July 4th Card

Maybe I'm becoming less of a procrastinator, but sometimes lately I get around and do a project early.  Here's another patriotic card I made.  This time I put "Happy July 4th" on it.  So I'll be ready to give this card to my BFF for Independence Day.

I used the card sketch from Frosted Designs Card Sketch Challenge #20.  You can find the sketch and challenge here.

I paper-pieced the bow on the jar and popped it up with foam tape, but it didn't turn out well in the pictures.  It was kind of tricky to color the blue background and not color in the stars, so I colored the whole field blue and then went back and dotted in the stars with my white gel pen.  Oh well, sometimes that happens when I try something new; some things work and some don't! Lol!

Supplies: Stamps-Papertrey Ink "Friendship Jar Summer Fillers" set, ink-Stampin' Up!, Water color crayons-Stampin' Up!, white pen and clear glitter pen-Sakura, cardstock-Bazzill, patterned paper-Paper Studio, twine-Stampin' Up!, flower-Recollections, and brad-Paper Studio.

Hope you enjoyed this card, and now I guess I'd better work on a Father's Day card for my hubby.  Considering that it will come before July 4th! Lol!
