Pinterest Inspired Give Thanks Card

Well, life has been busy lately, but I've got a little crafty stuff done lately!  I host a Pinterest-inspired challenge over on the A Cherry On Top Message Board.  This month's challenge is to use this as inspiration (or participants can use their own pins):

Here's the card I made for an example:

I used lots of Cricut cuts on this one!  The wood grain embossed background piece is from Elegant Edges.  Then I used Botanicals for the wheat and Designer's calendar for the pumpkins, leaves, and sentiment.  I then cut the flowers with Straight From the Nest.  I layered it all up with some Stampin' Dimensionals and added little pearls.

I might try to do a layout based on this photo, but will have to dig for the perfect picture!

If you want to try your hand at this challenge, you can find it here.

And, the winner is chosen at random to win a $5 gift certificate to the A Cherry On Top online store!

Bling it on!

Two posts in one day?  Almost impossible from me!  But I found two outstanding challenges to enter, and had to get to scrapping!

I was inspired by this sketch at Stuck? Sketches:

This is for their September 15 challenge.  You can find all the details here.

I also used lots of Cricut cuts, so this layout is perfect for the challenge over at Bitten by the Bug 2.  This week's challenge is to use any Cricut cut on your layout!  You can find these details here.

The cartridges I used were:  Elegant Edges--title block and scalloped border, Jasmine for the title letters, Storybook--flourishes, and Paper Doll Dress Up--crowns and scepter.

My patterned paper is Kaisercrafts' Giggly, and I used lots of Bazzill cardstock.

Thanks for checking out my layout!  Hope to be able to check in with you more often!

A few cards

Here's a few cards I've done for challenges over at A Cherry On Top.  Hostesses on the Message Board have challenges going all through the month, and they keep my crafty mojo going!

The first one is for a friend of mine who is going to Hawaii with her sister.  I wish I could go with her . . . . Anyway, she'll love this card--she's been getting some anxiety about leaving her kids, so I'm hoping this will lighten her mood a little.

I used a Snag 'em Stamp--the hula penguin girl.  I used Night of Navy ink and colored in a few spots with my Inktense pencils.  Added a few enamel dots and a sentiment stamped with some mini alphas, and done!  Now, to just get it to her before she leaves . . . .

I made this Tigger card for the Disney challenge on ACOT.  It was to use a jungle theme, and I thought this patterned paper was perfect!  I cut Tigger out with my new Pooh and Friends Cricut cartridge.  Loving that thing!  DD#2 wants all her favorite characters cut out, though, and she's disappointed there's no Christopher Robin . . . . . .

And the last one is a Christmas card.  I guess I can't start too early on mine.  Even though I'll probably stick it in a box and forget to send it out. lol.  The Christmas Card challenge was to use embossing in any way.  I chose dry embossing with a poinsettia folder.  Love these Doodlebug enamel dots to add just a little bling . . . . . .

Thanks for visiting, and if you want to check out these challenges and more, visit the Message Board at ACOT here.

Masking/Misting Project

With summer here and the kids out of school, we have been too busy for me to get many scrapportunities!  But, I've been playing here and there.  So, I'll share a few more projects that I've done lately!

This was done for a challenge at A Cherry On Top.  We had a photo prompt to use, then interpret it.  I cut my camera shape with vinyl and my Cricut.  Then using it as a mask, I sprayed several different Mister Huey mists onto the background.

The vinyl stuck and tore the paper a little, so I covered it up with some flowers and a cut-out from some patterned paper.  I think these tie-dyed Prima flowers look perfect with the misting, don't you?!

This is for the Graphic Design challenge at ACOT.  You can find that here.

Thanks for looking!  Hope to post again soon!

Cards inspired by Pinterest!

Well, I've been out of the picture for a while!  lol!  Whatever scrapportunities I've had, I've been doing challenges and having lots of fun over at A Cherry on Top.  It's an awesome online store with an awesome message board.  Check it out here.

So, I've been hosting a Pinterest inspired challenge, so I want to share some cards I've done for that.

And my card, I interpreted the picture pretty literally.  I stamped the jar with a Papertrey Ink stamp from the Friendship Jar set on vellum and fussy cut it.  Then layered it over some brown for the dirt and added some parsley cuts from my Cricut.

Next, I used an Easter-y inspiring photo:

And, my card:

I used my hexagon punch from Stampin' Up! and several scraps for this springy card!

Hope you like these examples, and to see how I used some photos from Pinterest to make some cards.  Will be back soon to share more.  I'll try not to forget my little blog again!

Be Mine! Sharing a few Valentine Layouts

Wow, I've been so busy with doing challenges over at A Cherry on Top online scrapbook store and message board, that I haven't been sharing any crafty stuff with you all!  So, taking a little time out today to share my latest creations.

Here are a few layouts I made with photos from last year's Valentine pictures.

This challenge was to make a word in our title a color.  Even though my photo wasn't the greatest, DD #2 was in a phase where she wouldn't smile or even look at the camera, I had to scrap about the rose DH got her for Valentine's Day!  I used 2 inch squares of scrap patterned paper to frame my photo, and made roses with my Cricut's Flower Shoppe cartridge.  I drew the little swirly with a pencil and poked holes so I could hand embroider it with some Sew Easy floss.

Now, DD#1 knows how to smile for the camera!  She is holding her flowers just right, too!  I did this one for a Mood Board challenge, where the hostess basically had a photo prompt for us to go with.  I went with the bright pink color and used some Echo Park paper and dark pink washi to make my heart on my doily.  I made a little bird from 3 Birds on Parade cut with my Cricut.  Then I had a few stickers from Sticko and sequins and pearls moving up the page.

This layout is another Valentine's Day page, but with non-traditional colors.  The Elle's Studio "Love You More" line was perfect for it!  And this hostess challenged us to use something that was 3 years old or older.  So check out that Magic Mesh!  I knew I was holding onto that stuff for a good reason!  I also used some acrylic oval letters that I've had forever!

I'm moving right along with these challenges, and most of them offer an ACOT gift card as a prize!  So, if you're interested, check them out here.
