Hot Shot Valentine Card

It seems like I'm in denial that the end of January is almost here.  Then Valentine's Day will be here!!  I'd better get "on the ball."  So, with that, take a peek at the card I made for my 6 1/2 year old son.

He's getting too big for mushy-themed valentines, so I thought I'd incorporate a little of his favorite sport's team (the Oklahoma City Thunder NBA team) into a card.  I found this birdie and the phrase on the Cricut 3 Birds on Parade cartridge.  I used scraps from my stash and punched hearts with a Stampin'  Up! punch.  Then I gave this birdie an eye from Peachy Keen Stamps Pumpkin Face Parts.  There were two on the stamp, but I masked one since he is only side view.

I did a little detail work on him with my white Gelly roll pen.

I kept it simple on the inside by adding a few blocks of cardstock and another PKS stamp, this one from the January release.  Then I had to use the other hearts; I just couldn't help myself.  It's not too mushy, do you think?

I'm entering this into the following challenges:
Peachy Keen Stamps Challenge #13-4: Just Cards Heart of Hearts
Cut it Up Challenge #11: Love is in the Air
