Color Challenge-"Teddy Bear Love" Scrapbook Page

Happy Leap Day!  Yes, it's a special day because it only comes around once every four years, and my DH's grandson was born on this day.  Despite the jokes that he is only three, he turned 12 this year.  He's growing up fast for a kid that "only has a birthday every four years!"  LOL!

On a different note, I took a scrapportunity to make a page yesterday evening before starting supper.  I used a color inspiration challenge from Paper Secrets.  February's color challenge ends tonight at midnight, but you can find the challenge here.

The specified colors were white, black, red, and pink.  I couldn't resist these pictures of my baby in her red and pink tie-dyed onsie with her hot pink teddy bear.

Hope you liked this scrapbook page; maybe next month I won't wait until the last minute to finish Paper Secret's color challenge.  But I did admit to being a procrastinator, didn't I??

Sketch Along Tuesdays--Sketch #35

Today I really had some scrapportunity time so I went over to Frosted Designs for a little sketch inspiration!  I found their Current Sketch Challenge here, and got right to work!

I just loved these papers from Little Yellow Bicycle and knew I had to have them now that Kendall is in Kindergarten, and I have so much more school stuff to scrap about!  And I went Cricut crazy with this page, too, using "My Community," "George," and "Doodlecharms" cartridges.  These simple cuts worked great to highlight my little guy! 

Circus Themed Cards

Those Tu-Tu gift bags and the birthday party that went along with it inspired me to make some cute and colorful birthday cards.  So, using my "Carosel" Lite Cricut cartridge, I made a girl one (with tulle) and a boy one (without tulle, but with something every little boy will love--a cannon! LOL)

I sprayed the bear with a little shimmer spray from "Tattered Angels," and it blotched a little. Guess I need to practice with that stuff a little more! And I think the cotton candy brad from "Eyelet Outlet" really set it off!

Again, I used some brads from "Eyelet Outlet" that went with my bright color scheme.  I used up some scraps on these two cards, and now I have a couple of fun, bright birthday cards on hand--ready for a party!!

Flower Encouragement Card

Hello all! I know, I was just here, right?  Well, I stumbled onto a challenge blog called Stampin Sisters in Christ Challenges where each challenge is inspired by scripture.  I just couldn't resist making a card and entering it. There are just a few hours left, so you should check it out.  Find the challenge here.  Challenge #127 – 2 Cor. 2:16b was to use flowers, and here's my card with a stacked up flower.

The stamp is from American Art Stamp, and I colored it with Stampin' Up! markers.  The paper was scraps from my stash, and the flowers are also from my stash.  The photo corner brad is from Paper Studio.

I hope you enjoy this card, I always like to have some encouragement cards handy in case a friend is having a bad day or if they might need a little lift to their day!  Hope you have a good day!

Tu-Tu Party Gift Bags

I told you I was going to be busy sewing on Thursday.  My step-daughter talked me into decorating little canvas treat bags for her daughter's 10th birthday party.  I'm always ready for a little craftiness, even if it's not scrapbooking. So I had fun and was glad to help Lexy celebrate in any way I could!  Here's the finished project!

This was the first of twenty! My step-daughter got the original idea from Pinterest.  They were really cute and more elaborate, but ours were just for the treat bag, so we kept them simple. After I did the first one, I made a little assembly line.  Want to see how I did it?  Here goes . . .

Starting with a roll of 6-inch tulle, I measured to width of the purses and decided that to get a gathered, ruffled up look, I would cut the tulle in 60 inch lengths.

Then I folded the tulle down lengthwise about a third of the width.  Then put in a basting seam that was about 5/8".

Next, gather it along one thread, and pin it to the purse.  Then sew it along the edge, and ta-da . . . it's a cute party treat bag.  She put candy and lipgloss inside to go with the "girly" theme.

Birthday girl loved the treat bags and actually her whole party was a success (as far as a 10 yr-old birthday party goes, anyway!)  Now maybe I can really find that "Scrapportunity" I was talking about earlier! Happy crafting!
