Christmas layouts

Okay, I'll admit it--these layouts were made with 2012 photos!  But, they are new creations!!

I got my big kids a cookie kit at Walgreen's last year.  If you look closely, you can see that it's a Ninja-bread kit!  DS loves Lego Ninjago, so I thought this would be fun and different!  We had a blast making cookies with this!  For my layout, I used Authentique's Joyous collection and a little Mister Huey's white mist to represent flour.  It looks more like it IRL.

This layout uses some Bazzill kraft background paper and some scraps from my stash.  The kraft with white words and the squares are from The Paper Studio.  I pulled out lots of supplies on this one: the santa brad, the paper clip, twine, two kinds of alphas, the journal box, and the washi tape.  I love the little extra that washi gives to layouts!!  The title is meant to be a little sarcastic--my DD did NOT want her photo taken at her class Christmas party.  Lol, the joys of having a scrapping mamarazzi!!

Now, my DS LOVES having his photo taken--he always stops and poses with that huge grin!  These papers are mostly The Paper Studio, with a few scraps from my stash.  I Stickled the candy and reindeer die cuts (from my Artbooking Cricut cartridge) as well as some of the hexagons.  This one was actually from a Becky Flech sketch used in a challenge on A Cherry on Top.  You can find the origianl link here.

Hope you liked these pages; and I'm hoping to get all of Christmas 2012 scrapped so that I can move on to 2013!!  Have a great new year--it will be here soon!!

A Few Layouts

I've been working on several layouts lately to enter into challenges at A Cherry on Top.  It's my favorite online scrapbook store and message board.  You can find a link here.

This first one uses some new papers, the black with words and numbers is Graphic 45's Journey paper, and the leaves and multi chevron is Bazzill's Candy Corn Chevron/Scattered Leaves paper.  I loved both sides and had to use some of each!

The next layout shows some of the progress of building our house.  I used We R Memory Keepers' Happy Campers collection.

I loved these Reminisce papers, and thought they'd be perfect for scrapping my little boy with his candy bucket.  He thinks it's the only kind of container to take trick-or-treating!  I used a chalkboard sticker for my journaling, and the "Trick-or-Treat, Smell my Feet" saying is actually sticker strips.  I put them on top of some washi tape strips to highlight the saying.

This layout uses some swap pieces from a group I was a part of at It's a Scrapbooking Swap Thing (IASST).  It used Webster's Pages Game On collection.  I just love the look on my daughter's face in the bottom picture--I think she was coming out ahead in the game!

Hope you enjoyed looking at a few of my layouts!  Hope to get a few more uploaded soon!

Happy Fall Home Decor

My little boy asked me the other day if he could take his teacher a present.  How sweet of him!  I had just bought some little fall decorations at the dollar store with the intention of jazzing them up a bit.  With the help of my Cricut and Create a Critter 2, I fixed this little thing up!

And, of course, my little owl had to have a Peachy Keen face!  I stamped this one from the PK-754 Critter Faces.  Added some pen work and chalk, then put her in her new pumpkin home.  DS's teacher will love it, but I'm going to have to make one for us!

I'm entering this project in the Peachy Keen Stamps Challenge # : Anything Goes.  You can find it here.

Hope you liked this little owl, and hope you are having a Happy Fall!

Hey There, Pumpkin!

It's finally beginning to feel like autumn here in southern Oklahoma.  In the mornings, anyway!  And, we are busy planning trips to hay mazes and pumpkin patches, so what better time to get back in the swing of some card making?

I got my inspiration from the Peachy Keen Stamps Challenge for this week.  It's a photo inspiration:

You can find their challenge here.

I loved this little ghost from Peachy Keen Stamps (PK-M04 Mini Ghost), and since he's so friendly, I thought he went well with the sentiment from a small set by Studio G.  Here's a close-up of the sweet little ghost.

I'm also entering this card in the October 2013 Card Challenge at A Cherry On Top.  You can find it here.  That challenge was to just make a Fall or Halloween card.  But I get a bonus entry for having a pumpkin and/or leaves.  And I put plenty of leaves on this card.  All cut with my Cricut and the Straight From the Nest cartridge.

Hope you like this card, and hope you have a nice autumn day!

Peek-a-Boo Super Star

I did this layout for a challenge on A Cherry On Top's message board.  It was to use stencils or masking.  I cut out several stars with my Cricut George and Basic Shapes cartridge.  Then I attached them to my background cardstock with repositionable adhesive and misted on top of them.  Then I removed the masks, and built my page on top!

These photos are of my DD playing Peek-a-Boo, and I drew inspiration from her shirt!  I cut the main title with my Cricut Sans Serif cartridge, but I wanted to add that she's a super star at playing Peek-a-Boo.  So I cut a cute bear hiding behind a star with my Creative Memories Tiny Treasures Cricut cartridge.  And of course, that little bear needed some Peachy Keen personality!

I stamped a new face with the PKS Teddy Bear Assortment stamp set.  Then I did a little pen work around him and the star.

I'm also entering this layout in the Peachy Keen Stamps Challenge.  This week it's "Anything Goes!"  You can find the current challenge here.

Thanks for stopping by today!

A few more layouts . . .

Here are a few layouts I have to share.  Got a little scrappy this weekend, but had to finish up a couple this morning.

This first three are made with swap items.  I loved this lady bug one, especially because I call the baby "Katie Bug!"

I loved the mix of the traditional reds and greens with some kraft on this one using a Bazzill Christmas collection.

Here's a close up of that photo corner; thought the swapper did an awesome job on it.  Love that twine!

Loved the mix of colors in these patterned papers.  I added a strip of flocked tulle netting for a little background texture.

The next two layouts were done for challenges on A Cherry on Top online scrapbooking store's message board.  You can find them here.

This layout if for a border challenge.  I used cardstock, washi tape, scrap paper punched with my CM hexagon punch, and lots of little embellies.

The next challenge I did was to use at least 5 circles.  For this layout I had already chosen patterned paper to use, but wanted to use this cute title sticker from Jolee's.  So I used circles and buttons in colors that would coordinate with the title.

Hope you enjoyed looking!  Hopefully now that my big kids have started school, I'll have a little more scrappy time and can share more cards, layouts, and other projects.  See ya' later!

Thinking of You Teddy and Photo Inspiration

I've been out of pocket lately and not participating in many challenges.  But hopefully, with a little Peachy Keen Inspiration, I'll turn that around soon!!

Their challenge this week is a photo inspiration:

I was inspired by that gorgeous hydrangea!  And what better to pair with some of those happy flowers than a cute teddy bear?

My teddy is from the Peachy Keen Thinking of you Bear, and so is the sentiment.  I stamped the bear twice and cut out the paws from one and popped them up so they would be holding onto my hydrangea heart.

Other products I used were:
Cricut's Elegant Edges cartridge
Stampin' Up! Itty Bitty Shapes punch
Recollections adhesive pearls
white True Hemp
EK Success colored pencils
Quick Quotes Mocha chalk ink
Sakura white gel pen
Bazzill cardstock

If you'd like to check out the Photo Inspiration Challenge, go to Peachy Keen Stamps Challenge Blog.

Latest Layouts

Here's some layouts I've gotten completed lately, mostly for challenges on A Cherry On Top's message board.  If you're interested, you can find the store here.   The challenges are found here.

The first one is a Becky Fleck Sketch, the challenge is hosted by ACOT, and one winner from a random drawing will win 1,000 points which transfer into $5 credit in their online store!

This one is also a sketch challenge hosted by one of the ladies on the message board.  The challenge is animal/pet themed, but I used photos of my kids at the zoo.  I figured the pics of them poking their heads in a giraffe photo prop was cute and would qualify as "animals!"  Lol!

Here's a color challenge also hosted by a MB member.  Prize will be a $5 ACOT gift card by random drawing.  The colors this month are summery shades of yellow, orange, and hot pink.  I actually got out my stamps and fussy cut for this one!

One MB member hosts "Monday Mini Crops" every other week, and this layout is from one of them.  The challenge was to find inspiration from an idea book or magazine.  I loved this article from Scrapbooks, Etc. called "Kidding Around."  It's about using your scrap supplies to decorate a child's bedroom.  I loved the look of paper covered letters on the wall.

One day I want to do that for my daughter's bedroom!  I don't know how long it would take me to do all 26 letters, though!  I might have to settle for her name instead, lol!

That's all I'll share for now, I need to start on chores!!  The household work never ends.  Thanks for checking out my blog today!

"You've Got a Friend in Me!"

I love swapping and scrapping!  Here's a layout I made with some swapped elements from It's a Scrapbooking Swap Thing.  (Check them out here.)  The pictures are of my DS when he got new Woody from Toy Story pajamas.  He is wearing his hat he got at Vacation Bible School one year.  He cracks me up sometimes, being a typical boy!

I cut the title with Cricut's Birthday Bash cartridge, but I welded the letters with my Gypsy.  It took me a while to really get it down, but I finally figured it out!  Hope you like this layout!  I'm entering it in the May 1 challenge at About a Boy Challenge Blog.

Hula Teddy Card

Sorry I haven't been getting much scrappy time lately!  The end of my kids' school year has been a really busy time!  But I did manage to make a card for a friend, using Peachy Keen's photo inspiration.

As I was going through my stash the other day, I found some hibiscus patterned paper from Hobby Lobby, and knew I had to make a hula theme!

I cut the bear with Cricut's Teddy Bear Parade, and gave her a new Peachy Keen Face from their Teddy Bear Assortment, and the sentiment is from Peachy Keen's Thinking of you Bear set.  I put the bear on an action wobble--perfect when she dances with her ukelele!

I used some markers to accent the bear's clothes and added some pearls to her thought bubble and some crinkle ribbon from Stampin' Up!

Hope you like this card; I'll be entering it into the Peachy Keen Stamps Challenge.  You can find it here.

CUTE Layout

Here's a layout I did for my baby girl's scrapbook.  She didn't seem to enjoy her bouncy seat much, but one day I got out my camera, and she was really "hamming it up!" lol.

I pulled out lots of embellishments for this page; I was excited when I found these chipboard letter stickers in my stash.  I had paid 25 cents for them!  Love a bargain!!

Anyway, I'm entering this layout in a new challenge blog called About a Girl Scrapbook Challenges. Their challenge this week is to introduce your little girl.  I put baby's name in the journaling.  If you are interested in this challenge, you can find it here.  This layout is also entered in a challenge at A Cherry on Top for their National Scrapbook Day Crop.

Teacher Gift

This week's challenge is to make something 3D with flowers, and Teacher Appreciation Week is this week.  I have to combine!! Lol.  My two school-age kids have about 5 teachers together, so I decided to make little treats and send all week.  Here's the first thing I came up with:

And, here's the back:

I cut the box with Cricut's Tags, Bags, Boxes & More 2 cartridge and the flowers with Flower Shoppe, and the little spade was cut with the Freshly Picked cartridge.  I used Peachy Keen's Snow Cutie Face Assortment, Joy's Life "Tag You're It; Set Two", and the "teacher" stamp from Papertrey Ink.  I embossed and spray misted the flower petals before shaping them with my bone folder.  Then tucked in a small circle shaped box of mints inside before closing the box up and tying purple gingham ribbon around the top.

Hope you like my little project!  And don't forget to check out Peachy Keen's current challenge.  You can find it here.

Funny Pup Birthday Card

This week's challenge at the Peachy Keen Stamps Challenge Blog is a sketch challenge:

I'm still in need of fun & bright children's birthday cards, so I knew I wanted to use my Cricut Birthday Bash cartridge.  Isn't this pup funny?

I used my Peachy Keen PK-754 Critter Faces Set A Medium for his face; it makes him look like he's checking to see if everyone is watching his trick, lol!  I used mostly scraps from my stash and some BoBunny bithday patterned paper.  A little doodling, some adhesive bling and twine finished it off!  It was a quick card thanks to my Peachy inspiration!  Check out their latest Peachy Keen challenge here.

Surprise Birthday Card!

It's been a while, hasn't it?  Sorry, but I haven't been getting much craftiness done lately to share!  But when I saw the great colors for this week's Peachy Keen Photo Inspiration Challenge, I just KNEW I had to participate!!  I love these bright colors, and I'm in great need of kid-sy birthday cards.

Here's the photo inspiration:

And, here's my card:

I used Cricut's Crocs Rule and Cupcake lite cartridges.  I hid the crocodile's eyes and gave her new Peachy ones from their Teddy Bear and Reindeer Face Parts set.  The "Happy Birthday!" sentiment is from their PKSC-13 January 2013 release set.  I used a white pen to outline the crocodile and make it stand out, but it looks more like the icing from the cupcake stuck to her! Lol!

The background papers are from Echo Park's Everyday Eclectic by Allison Kreft.  Even though I have LOTS of patterned paper in my stash, when I saw this pack, I had to have it just for this colorful challenge!  (I'm totally addicted to patterned paper!)

Anyway, it feels good to get back into the crafty mood; maybe I'll have more to share with you soon.  If you are interested, check out Peachy Keen's latest challenge, here.

Springtime Post-it Note Holder

I love the weekly challenge over at Peachy Keen Stamps Challenge Blog, as you may know! Lol!  And this week they are offering a sketch challenge!  You can find a link here.

Here's my project: a post-it note holder!

Using my Cricut Expression and my Gypsy, I cut the tulip from Create a Critter and the doily and small yellow flower from Elegant Edges.  I used Peachy Keen's Cherub Face Assortment to make them cutesy!  Then I added a little inking on the edges, some washi tape and twine!  I used my Martha Stewart fringey scissors again for the grass.  I love how it turned out!

Here's the inside so you can see that its a little matchbook type closure to hold post-it notes so you can carry them in your purse, and they won't get messed up.  Or you might just like for your post-its to be prettied up! I basically followed a tutorial from Split Coast Stampers.  You can check it out here.

And, don't forget the challenge at Peachy Keen Stamps!  You still have a little more time if you want to participate!  Good luck if you do and Happy Easter!

Happy Easter Home Decor

Here's a little home decor to start celebrating Easter.  I wanted something simple and not too breakable, lol!

I used an 7 x 5" acrylic frame and some Paper Studio patterned paper from Hobby Lobby.  I cut the sun and the zigzag frame from Elegant Edges Cricut cartridge, and the "Happy Easter" from All Mixed Up cartridge.  I printed the "He is Risen!" verse on my computer.  Then I hand cut some grass and trimmed it with Martha Stewart's fringe scissors.

Of course I had to "Peachify" my project for the Anything Goes Challenge at Peachy Keen Stamps Challenge Blog.  I used PK-500 Snow Cutie Face Assortment for the sun's face, and the "Believe!!" (lower left of frame) from their PK-859 Christmas Greeting Words.  How's that for using your supplies on hand?!
I love my Peachy Keen Stamps!!

I'm also entering the Easter Eggstravaganza Linky Party at Craftin' Desert Divas.  They have lots of fun inspiration, so you should check them out, too, and get started on some Easter-y projects!!

More layouts

Here are a few layouts I put together using some swaps that I did with ladies from It's a Scrapbooking Swap Thing (IASST).  I was terribly behind on scrapbooking photos of my youngest, so I was really playing catch-up on her newborn weeks!  Using swaps made my pages get completed so fast!  If you're interesting in checking out this swap forum or joining, the link is here.

Proud papa, helping to spoil baby #3!  She slept best when someone was holding her, and isn't that the best time to hold a precious one?

Kellie was so proud to get a baby sister!  She loved holding her and taking pictures for me!

Kendall has been a great big brother!  It was hard at first to go from being the youngest to having a baby in the house, but all-in-all, he loves his baby sister!

Took this photo of all three of my sweeties!  Doesn't the title say it all?

There's that rowdy boy being still and quiet, watching his baby sister play.  And if you look close, you can tell that she likes watching him!

Bath time!  I thought I had plenty of experience in bathing newborns--I had two before this one!  But Katie didn't like getting cold and wet!  It was a little while before we got a system down where she enjoyed her bath time!

Here's one for the "funny pages"!!  I was going to put Katie to bed, and stopped in her big sister's room.  I looked at the doll bed, looked at Kellie, and said, "Think she'll fit?"  We just left her there long enough for pictures, lol!

I even had to document what socks I put on this baby!! Her scrapbook is filling up fast!!

Putting myself in the scrapbook.  Thanks to Kellie for her photography skills!

My BFF with Katie.  She had never been a "pink" kind of gal, but with this one, she softened up and actually gave us a pink outfit in our shower gift, lol!  But when she was wearing this bright pink shirt when I got the picture of her holding the baby, I had to pick this pink and green page kit for her page!

Well, hope you liked looking at all these pages, I'll try to get a few more posted soon!

And remember, if you think you'd like to join some scrapbooking swaps, look here:
