A few more layouts . . .

Here are a few layouts I have to share.  Got a little scrappy this weekend, but had to finish up a couple this morning.

This first three are made with swap items.  I loved this lady bug one, especially because I call the baby "Katie Bug!"

I loved the mix of the traditional reds and greens with some kraft on this one using a Bazzill Christmas collection.

Here's a close up of that photo corner; thought the swapper did an awesome job on it.  Love that twine!

Loved the mix of colors in these patterned papers.  I added a strip of flocked tulle netting for a little background texture.

The next two layouts were done for challenges on A Cherry on Top online scrapbooking store's message board.  You can find them here.

This layout if for a border challenge.  I used cardstock, washi tape, scrap paper punched with my CM hexagon punch, and lots of little embellies.

The next challenge I did was to use at least 5 circles.  For this layout I had already chosen patterned paper to use, but wanted to use this cute title sticker from Jolee's.  So I used circles and buttons in colors that would coordinate with the title.

Hope you enjoyed looking!  Hopefully now that my big kids have started school, I'll have a little more scrappy time and can share more cards, layouts, and other projects.  See ya' later!

More layouts

Here are a few layouts I put together using some swaps that I did with ladies from It's a Scrapbooking Swap Thing (IASST).  I was terribly behind on scrapbooking photos of my youngest, so I was really playing catch-up on her newborn weeks!  Using swaps made my pages get completed so fast!  If you're interesting in checking out this swap forum or joining, the link is here.

Proud papa, helping to spoil baby #3!  She slept best when someone was holding her, and isn't that the best time to hold a precious one?

Kellie was so proud to get a baby sister!  She loved holding her and taking pictures for me!

Kendall has been a great big brother!  It was hard at first to go from being the youngest to having a baby in the house, but all-in-all, he loves his baby sister!

Took this photo of all three of my sweeties!  Doesn't the title say it all?

There's that rowdy boy being still and quiet, watching his baby sister play.  And if you look close, you can tell that she likes watching him!

Bath time!  I thought I had plenty of experience in bathing newborns--I had two before this one!  But Katie didn't like getting cold and wet!  It was a little while before we got a system down where she enjoyed her bath time!

Here's one for the "funny pages"!!  I was going to put Katie to bed, and stopped in her big sister's room.  I looked at the doll bed, looked at Kellie, and said, "Think she'll fit?"  We just left her there long enough for pictures, lol!

I even had to document what socks I put on this baby!! Her scrapbook is filling up fast!!

Putting myself in the scrapbook.  Thanks to Kellie for her photography skills!

My BFF with Katie.  She had never been a "pink" kind of gal, but with this one, she softened up and actually gave us a pink outfit in our shower gift, lol!  But when she was wearing this bright pink shirt when I got the picture of her holding the baby, I had to pick this pink and green page kit for her page!

Well, hope you liked looking at all these pages, I'll try to get a few more posted soon!

Layout made with swapped items!

Hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving!  And now my excuse for being absent:  I'm busy, busy, busy!  Aren't we all this time of year?  Since it's been a while since my last post, I want to share a scrapbook page I made using some swap items--and give my fave swapping site a little shout out!

I just got a huge box of swap items back from "It's a Scrapbooking Swap Thing"!  I've been so busy making stuff and trying to stay ahead of the current deadlines, but when I got my box, I wanted to start scrapping!  Well, I got one page done.  But it only took about thirty minutes (gathering pics, giving my toddler snacks, diverting her attention, etc.) to do the whole thing.

Oh, actually, this page kit swap came with the last box, but because I had some pics ready that were from last year's Christmas stuff, I thought I'd use it first.  There were a lot of items in this kit, but I just used the photo mat, journal block, and border (which happened to have a title on it!) since I only wanted a one-page layout.

I love all the details this swapper put into this border:  the words mounted on red with stickles glitter around each one, the snowflake with a red dew drop in the center, and the eyelets laced with red fiber.  So cute with the mixed patterned papers!

My only problem when starting my layout is that I love to use patterned paper, so I was struggling with what to do for a background.  I looked at those cute snowflake embellies and then thought, "Spray mist!"  I got out my Tattered Angels' Icicle Blue and LED Red, and misted over some snowflakes cut from Cricut's "Joys of the Season" cartridge (which were temporarily adhered).  You can't really see the shimmer on these pics, but it shines!

I have big plans for Christmas vacation:  I hope to use up lots of my swaps and get some layouts scrapped so we can enjoy those photos that have just been accumulating in boxes lately!  And I'm going to let my kids use some of the leftover pieces to make pages for their own albums.  They need to get into this hobby as well, don't you think?

Hope you enjoyed checking out my page, and if you're looking for a swap group, check out "It's a Scrapbooking Swap Thing" (IASST) at www.iasst.forumotion.net.  Thier big Birthday Crop is coming up on New Year's Eve when they have lots of challenges and new swaps to sign up for!  I'm excited about that, too!

"Smore" Fun!!

So I've had the Wild Life Puns stamps from Joy's Life for a while, and haven't even opened the package.  But the other day at Walgreen's I saw some individual packs of Russell Stover Smores, and I knew I had to use this sentiment to make a tag or card to go with it!

Cutesy! Huh?!  I'm so excited to send this to school for my daughter's teacher along with a little smore treat!

I embossed the background with a Paper Studio folder and cut the little porupine from the Cricut Campin' Critters.  I hid his face with the Ggypsy so I could add a cuter Peachy Keen face.  It's from the Critter Faces Set A Medium.  I followed the sketch on the Peachy Keen Stamps Challenge Blog.  You can find the latest challenge here.

I'm also entering this card in Frosted Designs Fabulous Friday Challenge :  Embossing.  You can find it here.

Hope you like this card!  Have a sweet day!  I think I will enjoy one of those smores myself!  LOL!

"On the Go" layout--Sketch Challenge

Here's a layout I want to share today.  I made it based on Frosted Design's Sketch Along Tuesday Sketch #45.  You can find that challenge here.  I even used elements from a scrapbooking swap I recently received back!  That made it go really fast, since the subject of my layout wasn't too happy this morning; I only had a few minutes to get this layout done!

This challenge isn't due until noon, Sunday, July 22, so you should check it out if you like this sketch!  Here's the challenge again: Frosted Designs Sketch #45.

Thanks for stopping by!

Ahoy Mates! Sharing some swap items!

Happy Fourth of July!  We don't have much planned for today; most of our fun starts this evening with a potluck, Bible study, games, and fireworks at church.  I want to try a new crock pot chicken recipe, so I better make this post short and sweet!  Gotta get that thing started!  Lol!

Here are a couple of items I made for a swap for my fave site, It's a Scrapbooking Swap Thing.  They are trying to generate more interest, so you should "sail" over and take a look.  I say "sail" over because the swap items I am sharing have a nautical theme.

Here's the photo mat I made.  And a close-up of one corner shows a little banner embellishment.

The patterned papers are from Creative Imaginations' Nautical Line.  Have a peek at them here.

I signed up for two groups in this swap; here's my tag for group two.

And a close-up!  I pulled out my Stampin' Up! "By Sea" stamp set for this one.  That's one more thing I like about these swaps--I'll use more of my stuff and embellish my items more for them than if I'm just scrappin' and making one item.  If I make 8 or so items, it seems more worth it to "go overboard," lol!

Anyway, check out that swap site if you are interested; I love sharing my work with others and getting theirs in return!  They put up new swaps all the time!

See you soon!  Have a safe and happy 4th of July!

More Swap Stuff to Share

I told you that I did 11 pages with my swaps from "It's a Scrapbooking Swap Thing,"  IASST, so here are a few more layouts.

These Thanksgiving pages were done with another "naked" swap--we embellished the pieces after we got them back.  So here's a close-up of the tag and photo corner.  I used a couple of stamps from Stampin' Up! to decorate them.

Now, some Christmas pages . . .

And a zoo page I completed yesterday with pictures from May, 2012; I was really jumping around!  I had printed this collage and didn't want it getting wrinkled up, so I thought it was safer on a scrabook page than getting moved around on the bar.

Those pages came together so fast!  Then I had time to do a few cards for IASST, too.  They do lots of different swaps, and I'm usually one of the first to sign up for card swaps.

This one was done with a stamp from Close to My Heart, paper and ribbon from Hobby Lobby, and cardstock from Bazzill.

These two were made with Stampin' Up! stamps and ink, Bazzill cardstock, Cuttlebug embossing folder, twine from We R Memory Keepers, button from my stash, and patterned paper from a pad that I now don't know the manufacturer because I tore it from the package a long time ago.

Now I've got to get these cards and a few other things in the mail to my hostesses.  I'll share even more later as I get the opportunity!  Have a great day!

Quickie Layouts with Swap Items

I had some awesome scrapportunities last weekend!  Went to a friend's house (and even took my 3 kids!) to scrapbook, and I got 11 pages done!  Well, some were part of a two page spread, but who's counting, really?!  I'm a member of an awesome swapping site, "It's a Scrapbooking Swap Thing,"(IASST) and I took a lot of pictures and completed swaps with me, and it all fell together as perfect as it can get (I mentioned that I took all 3 of my kids, right?)  We all got to play and had a great time, thanks to all the fine ladies in IASST; if you're interesting in checking them out, you can find them here.

These pages were done with a "Naked Swap."  The pieces didn't have to be embellished.  We left it up to the scrapper to fancy up. (Hey, have you heard this line:  Scrapbookers don't lie--they embellish!)

So, here's a close-up of the tag. I put the ribbon, flower and brad, and the yummy stickers.

Two cooking themed kits that the pieces were embellished.  Wow!  They went fast on the scrapbooking.  All  I had to do was add pictures and journaling.

Now, some Halloween pages.  I love the way this photo mat was embellished!  That's another good thing about swapping--you get ideas that you might not have thought about.

More Halloween fun!  Kindergarten class party, and both my big kids placed in the school's carnival costume contest!

Now, on to the trick-or-treating!  Gotta get CANDY!!!

Well, that seems like a lot for one post, so I'll close for now and finish up later!  Also, some of these are the two-page spreads I mentioned, but I was having trouble putting the pictures side by side.  I'm not too tech-savvy, lol!

Anyway, I hope you all check out that swap site, IASST, if you're looking for another way to feed your scrapbooking addiction, LOL!
