Get Well Hugs & Wishes

Here's a quick little card I put together with scraps from my stash!  Of course, I had a little help from my Peachy Keen Stamps and my Cricut.  I love it when they work well together!

Sorry the lighting isn't so great--I'm trying to get this posted at the last minute for the Peachy Keen Stamps Challenge #32 : sketch.  You can find it here.  Yes, I have reverted to my procrastinating ways, lol!

I used the "Chore Chart" Lite Cartridge from Cricut, "Cherub Assortment" set from Peachy Keen Stamps, black ink from Momento, sentiment from Papertrey Ink's "Big & Bold Wishes" set, washi tape from We R Memory Keepers, and a little bling from Studio G.  I also inked a few edges with some Clearsnap chalk inks.

Had to give you a close-up of that Peachy Face!  This pillow is so happy to get a little rest and recupe from the sniffles!  Lol!  Surely this card will brighten the face of any of my friends should they get ill.  Good thing I'm getting a card ready before flu season strikes!

Thanks for stopping by!  And stay well!

Birthday gift set

Today is my good friend's birthday, and she loves chocolate!  (There are some people out there who don't, but I don't understand that?? LOL!!)  One of the very best things about paper crafting is that you can personalize a gift to match a friend's personality!  And with the challenge over at Peachy Keen Stamps Challenge Blog being to make or decorate a box, I had to use a truffle for this particular friend.

I cut my pillow box with the "Wrap It Up" Cricut cartridge.  It had a diploma on the front, but I hid those cuts with my Gypsy.  No one would have been able to tell anyway (if I had left the diploma) since I covered the front, but oh, well!  I've only recently gotten my Gypsy out of the box, so I needed a little practicing!

I cut the truffle with Cricut's Sweet Shop Lite cartridge with Bazzill cardstock and scraps of patterned paper from my stash.  The face is from Peachy Keen Stamps "Cherub Face Assortment," and it's stamped with Timber Brown Staz-On ink.  I embellished it with We R Memory Keepers twine, brads and gemstones from The Paper Studio.

The side view!  I had to use this sentiment from Joy's Life!  And I had already stamped it, then realized it wouldn't fit on the top of the pillow box!  So I thought the birthday gal would get a kick out of that punny stamp when she turns the box to open it!  Now it's all ready to be filled with some yummy truffles!

Then, I had to make a card to go along with the pillow box and treat!  I used most of the same stuff, but added some brown bling gemstones, also from The Paper Studio, and a sentiment from Stampin' Up!'s "Happiest Birthday Wishes" set.

Hope you like this little birthday gift set, and that it inspires you to personalize a gift and card for a friend!  I'm entering it in the following challenges; (And they just started today!  It's a record for me to get started so soon; I know you were thinking that!) so check them out and play along!

Happy Get Well!

Here's a card I made for a special little friend who is in the hospital.  She is four years old and loves horses and bling.  So I went over the "big" top with this card for her!  I wanted it to be bright and fun and cheerful!

The current challenge at the Peachy Keen Stamps Challenge Blog is to make a card that is popped up, and I was excited!  I've been popping up a lot of stuff lately in my projects, LOL!  I used Scotch mounting tape under the blue banner, under the sentiment circle, and under the horse and spinner background.  I love to use the Cricut "Carosel" Lite Cartridge for kids' cards. And I wanted to do a spinner card so the sick girl could play a little with it.

And what clown doesn't need a "corny" face?  I used Peachy Keen Stamps "The Cornies Face Assortment" for him and "Wide Eyed Kids Face Assortment" for the flag.

I'll be sending this get well wish to our little friend this afternoon.  I'm sure she will love making the little pony do its spinning trick!

I'm entering this card in Peachy Challenge #30: Just Cards: Popped Up.  There's still time if you want to "pop" over and check it out!  LOL!

You mean everything to us . . .

A friend of mine is going to be a grandma, (again-but this is her daughter's first child), and she wanted to find something to hang in the baby's room that had the following saying:  "First we had each other.  Then we had you.  Now we have everything!"  Isn't that sweet?

So, my friend will be going to help her daughter and family move next week!  She thought, "I can make something a lot quicker than I can find something."  So off we went to our local Hobby Lobby for a 12x12 frame, paper, and embellies, and I offered to do it for her.

But where do I start?  I knew the new momma was decorating baby's room with gray bears, so I immediately knew I wanted to use "My Favorite Teddy Bear" from Stampin' Up!  (At least, I think that's the name of the set--I just noticed some little hands must have taken the label from my set!)  And then, I needed a little inspiration!  Frosted Design's Sketch Challenge!  You can find it here.

Here's the page out of the frame.  When baby's momma wants to re-do his room, she can take it out of the frame, and put it in a scrapbook.  Then she can use the frame again!

The page in the frame.  It's from Hobby Lobby; made by The Paper Studio.

I love this stamp!  It's so classic.  And I tried to keep the project toned down for baby boy.  Not much bling--just a few pearls from Melissa Frances.  And the shapes were cut with Cricut's "Elegant Edges" cartridge.

I'm entering this page in the following sketch challenge:  Frosted Designs Sketch #47.

Hope you enjoyed my project;  I had fun with it!  And, now I'm inspired to do something like this for my kid's rooms . . .

"Birds of a Feather" Card

Here's a quick card I made using the "Straight from the Nest" Cricut Cartridge.  I'm entering it it Peachy Keen Stamps Challenge #29:  Color Inspiration.  You can find it here.

I mostly used scraps from my stash, but they were all from Bazzill, and the patterned paper is Carta Bella.

The faces are from Peachy Keen's "Wide Eyed Kids" and "Cherub" assortments.  The ink and markers are from Stampin' Up!, the white pen is Gelly roll from Sakura, and the bling is from Wal-Mart.

Hope you like this card; I just love using this cartridge!  There's still a little time left if you want to enter this color challenge.  The link is Peachy Keen Stamps Challenge #29: Color Challenge.
