Apple of the Teacher's Eye!

Today I want to share a mini album I made for my son's Kindergarten teacher.  She retired this year after 43 years of teaching!  She is a dear lady, and Kendall loved having her for a teacher, so I wanted to give her something personal to remember this little guy.

Here's the album all finished up.  I used notebook rings to bind it, and covered them with ribbons.  I used some "buttons" from "Dress it up" by Jesse James for the title.  Hot glued them on so they wouldn't fall off!

Here's an example of the inside pages.  I didn't include all the pages, because I had pictures of the teacher with my son, and I didn't think she would want her picture on the internet.

This picture shows my cover.  I cut it using the Cricut DoodleCharms cartridge.  I cut the apple shadow out at 5 3/4" on a cracker box and black cardstock.  Then I cut the rest of the layers with cardstock.

Here's a little school bus that I cut with DoodleCharms and the cracker box as well.  I had it dangling on the next page.

I cut the inside pages with the shadow feature onto white cardstock and the patterned paper from Recollections and glued them together so they would be thicker.  I used various embellishments cut from DoodleCharms, some journaling cards from Little Yellow Bicycle, stickers from Tina Ledbetter/SandyLion and Paper Studio, buttons, ribbons, and clips from my stash.

Teacher loved the mini album, and I'm glad I took pictures of it so I can remember it, too.  I'll make him a 12x12 school scrapbook, but who knows when?  Maybe now that school is out, I'll have some scrapportunities to get that started, anyway! LOL!
