Gettin' Ready for Back 2 School!

I'm determined to not be such a procrastinator!  So for this week's Peachy Keen Challenge, I made a  Back to School card for my daughter's 6th grade teacher for the first day of school.

The Peachy Keen Challenge #25 is to make a card using chalk.  You can find that challenge here.  This was really challenging to me, because I've hardly ever used my chalks!  I love them, but they're one more of those items that get put away and not pulled back out for a while.  But I'm glad that was the challenge this week.  Maybe I'll use them again a few more times before I put them away again.

I used Stampin' Up! chalk for the rosy cheeks of my backpack (cut with Cricut's Locker Talk cartridge) and on the alphabet background (Stampin' Up!).  I inked it with Versamark watermark ink, then rubbed the black chalk on it to reveal the letters.  This was a new technique for me--I had read about it, but this was the first time I'd tried it.  I think it worked pretty well!

The other supplies I used are Bazzill cardstock, twine from We R Memory Keepers, button from  my stash, brads from Paper Studio, "ABC" stamp from TPC Studio, and of course the cute Peachy Keen Stamp from Wide-eyed kids set.

Now pull out your chalks and give it a go--see what you can come up with and enter it in the PKS Challenge #25 here.

  2. Love your card. I like when faces are added to objects other than people or critters.
